On September 14, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and representatives of the Early Childhood Education Department, Ministry of Education and Training (GDĐT) and VVOB Organization in Vietnam (VVOB) had a solemn reception of the High-level Delegation of Flanders, Kingdom of Belgium within the framework of the Delegation's official visit and working visit to Vietnam on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Kingdom of Belgium (1973-2023).
On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE), Dr. Bui Tran Quynh Ngoc, the Vice President of HCMUE, sent the warm welcome to distinguished guests and introduced the training program, scientific research, and technology transfer activities; Strategy to develop the university into an applied university with a pedagogical focus, with requirements for training high-quality human resources, scientific research at an advanced level, meeting the cause of industrialization and modernity nationalization, regional and international integration. Through that, Dr. Bui Tran Quynh Ngoc also expressed her gratitude and excitement with the achievements of increasingly expanding cooperation between the parties.
Mr. Jan Jambon, Minister-President of the Government of Flanders, affirmed the fundamental importance of education for the labor market and social development in the 4th industrial revolution. Flanders is very interested in continuing development cooperation. The exchange of knowledge between Flanders and the world, support for development through initiatives are important elements of Flanders's foreign relations and development cooperation policy.
In the meeting, VVOB presented educational projects sponsored by the Flanders region that VVOB has been implemented in Vietnam and has a strong influence. The focus of the presentations emphasize the educational initiatives and expertise from the Flanders region that are contributing to supporting the education system in Vietnam, with special attention to vulnerable groups.
At the end of the meeting, the representatives of the units gave each other meaningful gifts. The delegation also shared information about the potential cooperative relationship between Belgium in general and East Flanders province in particular with Vietnam, and specific implementation activities with agencies, provinces and cities. The leaders of East Flanders province and the Belgian Ambassador hope that Ho Chi Minh City University of Education and VVOB Organization in Vietnam will continue to develop the existing good relationship between the two sides and strive to achieve many successes even greater achievements in the future.
